To help CARE in our mission to get all cats off the street first and foremost Be Responsible. Also, you can support us through Volunteering or Donations.
Be Responsible
The problem starts and ends with the individual pet owners. We will never master the problem until every person that owns a pet understands that they must take care of that pet.
- Be a responsible cat owner by keeping your pet indoors.
The life span of an indoor cat is 17 years and up compared to 2-5 years for a free- roaming pet, and 6 months-2 years for a non-monitored feral.
- Have your pet neutered and vaccinated.
- Take your cat to your favorite veterinarian or visit a low-cost clinic in your area.
- Recognize a managed feral cat colony.
Cats that are members of managed feral cat colonies will be marked by having the tip of the ear clipped. Colonies will be located in non-nuisance environments away from regular interaction with people and automobiles . Monitored colonies are fed every day—with the goal of zero-population growth as the cats die out through natural attrition.
- Take Feral cats you come in contact with through the CARE Program.
- Support TNR.
In cities throughout the United States, the trap-neuter-return (TNR) policy has been proven effective and considerably less expensive than euthanasia. You can be a part through time or financial contributions to CARE Feline rescue or by simply spreading the word. To find out more, call 407-522-2617 or continue your visit through the CARE Feline Rescue Web Pages.
Volunteer with CARE
CARE's purpose is to improve the lives of the feral and abandoned cats throughout Orange County and reduce the number of cats needlessly euthanized each year. CARE Feline Rescue is operated solely by volunteers who help using their wide range of talents. Volunteer opportunities exist from clerical to vaccinating and can be occasional or ongoing.

CARE Feline Rescue is an all-volunteer organization, relying on donations to operate. Although our program is fortunate to partner with a county funded spay/neuter clinic, there are still costs associated with operating the program.
Some of the ways your donations help our program include:
- Purchasing or building traps
- Vaccines for kittens
- Identification and Flea control for cats at time of surgery
- CARE voicemail telephone line and website
- Veterinary bills
Your contribution can be made as a general donation or you can designate a specific program to support. All donations are fully deductible as permitted by law. CARE Feline Rescue, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organization. All funds go directly to CARE Feline Rescue, Inc. We do not use an outside fundraising organization.
